It's pretty common to get caught up in a situation like this, one
where you are realizing that you are attracted to your guy friend and
now that you realize that, you want things to move in a certain
direction. You don't want to be just his friend anymore, you want to be
something more than that. What are you to do when you are not sure if he
likes you the same way or he just thinks of you as being a friend and
nothing more than that?
Here is my advice on what to do if you like your guy friend and you want to become more than his friend:
1. First things first, many guys would love to date their close female friend.
This is good for you to know. A lot, and I do mean a lot of men have a female friend that they are close to that they would like to be more than friends with. So, you really do have a good chance that this guy that you are hanging out with DOES want something more than just being friends with you. One of the reasons why this happens is because some guys are too shy about asking a woman out and so, they choose to be her friend instead. You might not think that this is what is going on with him, but it very well may be exactly what is going on. Keep that in mind, because knowing that will kind of make life a bit easier for you.
2. You have to find a way to change the way that you and he interact with one another.
Assuming that he does have those kinds of feelings, then it should be obvious that something needs to change, right? Well, you could wait around forever hoping that it just will, or you can do something to make that change happen. A good way to do that is to change the way that you interact with him. See if you can get him to do a date like activity with you, just the two of you. Sometimes that is the only thing that needs to change, to get the both of you in sync with the idea that being more than friends is what you BOTH want.
3. You also have to choose between friendship and possibly losing him.
The reality is that if he doesn't see you that way and you make an issue out of it, he may start to distance himself from you. So, if you spend a lot of time with one another and you really enjoy that time that you share, that may be something to consider. Would you be better off finding out what's really up with him or would you be better off suppressing the way that you feel and carrying on the way that the two have been carrying on with one another?
